Son of Thomas Speedy & Margret Bone. Born 14 Oct 1815 in England. Christen 1 Nov 1815 in Chapel St. Or Shaws Lane Relief Chapel, Berwick. Died 26 Jan 1900 in Harvey. Buried in Harvey Settlement Cemetery. Occupation Farmer. Religion Presbyterian.

Various places where Thomas Speedy and his family lived prior to emigration to Harvey Settlement, New Brunswick in 1842.

1841 England Census entry for family of Thomas Speedy. Transcription presented below as well as scans of orignal document.

At the time of the 1841 census Thomas was working as an agricultural worker (probably a hind) on Gundenridge Farm, near Duddo, Norhamshire, County Durham*. He had probably been working there at least 7 mo, based on the age of his youngest daughter Margaret who was born in County Durham. Four years earlier the family had been living in Scotland based on the place of birth of his daughter Isabella.

*Norhamshire, an enclave of County Durham, was transferred to Northumberland in 1844
